Save Browser
Every slot with its metadata, backups and state, plus validate, reveal, back up, restore, export, import and delete — and what it refuses to show.
What it is for#
NexusForge → Persistence → Save Browser lists every slot with: label, size, revision, schema version, framework version, game version, build id, platform, timestamps, playtime, backup count, state and checkpoint marking. Rows needing attention come first, so a damaged slot is not something you have to hunt for.
Actions#
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Validate | Runs the slot through the framework's checks and reports findings. |
| Reveal file | Opens the folder so you can see exactly what exists. |
| Backup now | Takes a backup copy through the framework's own path. |
| Restore backup | Uses the framework's recovery path — no ad-hoc file copying. |
| Export… | Copies a slot out, verified. |
| Import… | Goes through AdoptAsync, which validates a file before accepting it. |
| Delete | Removes a slot through the framework's delete options. |
What it deliberately does not do#
It also never rewrites or "repairs" a save. It reports. The only file the tooling writes is the storage probe's own _probe file, which it deletes afterwards.
In and out of Play Mode#
Inside Play Mode the browser uses the game's live host. Outside it, it opens a temporary host over your settings asset through the same Unity bootstrap factory the game uses — so what you inspect is what the game would see, rather than a second code path that can disagree with the first.
Next#
- Diagnostics — where the same findings show up at runtime.
- Recovery — the code path behind Restore backup.
- Save slots — the model the browser is a view over.
